Supporting arts and cultural organisations
If you work for or represent an arts or cultural organisation that either currently provides or wishes to provide services for BSL users, then membership of Signed Culture will give you all the support you need. Membership is open to, and useful for, all kinds of cultural organisations, from theatres to museums to performing arts companies.
As a Signed Culture member, your organisation will gain access to a searchable database of BSL interpreters and Deaf presenters housed in the members-only area of our website as well as supporting documents and professional advice. You will be able to list your accessible events on our website and we will promote them on your behalf to our database of BSL users as well as on our social media platforms. There is also the opportunity of promoting an event or initiative on the news page.
Member organisations will receive a regular e-newsletter which contains news from the Deaf community and information about accessible arts events, as well as a 30% discount on the cost of Signed Culture's consultancy services, which will include Deaf awareness training focused on the needs of the arts and cultural sector.
The cost of your membership is based on your organisation’s turnover in the last financial year and membership lasts for 12 months. You can pay now by Paypal, credit or debit card or you can request that we send you an invoice. If you are organising a one-off event and wish to have temporary membership of Signed Culture, or you want to talk to us about signing up a number of organisations as a group, then please contact us and we'd be happy to discuss this with you.
(Note: Membership runs from 1st April - 31st Mar, however, if you would like to join after 1st June then a pro-rata rate of membership fee will apply. Please request an invoice for this non-standard fee.
